  • The environment where the house is located.
  • Used wall material
  • Existing coatings that cannot be replaced

This is the minimum that must be taken into account. Of course, there can be much more factors in each specific case.

Two boxes, similar in shape and size, with a design similar in style, look different.

Private house facade design, implies a complex finish that can be made from various materials.

A store that sells polystyrene stucco moldings exists in the production of facade decor in the city of Pushkino. We produce stucco moldings using two different technologies:

  • Facade elements made of concrete according to drawings.
  • Stucco molding from polystyrene, both according to the catalog for sale in the online store or in large wholesale, and under the order according to the drawings.

Shaped cutting of polystyrene is carried out on programmed machines. The term for the production of concrete stucco moldings is from 45 working days, while the production time for the same volume of foam decor is from 3 working days. Since the labor intensity of production is much lower, polystyrene stucco molding is much cheaper.

Benefits of styrofoam decor

Facade stucco molding is actively used in the architecture of many countries. It serves as a decoration for the outer walls and at the same time gives individuality to the facade. Today, various materials are used for its manufacture: from gypsum to natural stone. The greatest demand among them is for expanded polystyrene products, which is due to a number of advantages, including:

  1. Ease. The weight of such decor is 2.5 times lighter than that of glass fiber reinforced concrete and 5 times lighter than that of elements made of concrete and natural stone.
  2. Environmental friendliness. Ensuring the absence of harmful effects on human health and the environment.
  3. Resistant to high and low temperatures.
  4. Exact dimensions. This was achieved through the use of a special computer shaped cutting machine.
  5. Strength and durability.

Styrofoam molding

Stucco molding is an affordable and inexpensive type of interior decoration. For centuries it was made of gypsum, but the foam synthesized by chemists in the middle of the last century won out. He is able to imitate any architectural style.

Today you can buy cornices, columns, moldings (overhead convex strips), other products for decoration made of granular or smooth polystyrene, unpainted or imitating wood, marble, stone.

Foam stucco molding is not particularly durable. But it is ideal for lovers of frequent repairs and in rooms with a non-standard microclimate: it is used to cover the walls in a wet bathroom, basement, where other material quickly deteriorates.

Polyfoam compares favorably with gypsum: it retains its original appearance for a long time, is not afraid of moisture, does not crumble, does not react to impacts, and is easy to clean.

Since 2007, he has been successfully engaged in the manufacture and installation of facade elements made of lightweight stone, gypsum and certified expanded polystyrene covered with a special protective polymer coating, in any size provided by the customer. The unique protective layer that covers the products allows them to withstand significant temperature changes and does not allow moisture to pass through, as a result of which there is no expansion of the elements, the appearance of cracks, joints. The facade created by us will delight your eyes for many years! As a manufacturer, our company can guarantee the lowest prices with high quality products. We draw your attention to the fact that now on the market there are many one-day companies with a representative office in one region, and production in another, and offering very low prices for products. After payment of the advance payment, such would-be contractors disappear or use cheap material, poor-quality coating in the manufacture of products. The result is that you accept the work, and after six months you have to dismantle the products. We do not promise discounts from the lowest estimates of competitors, since in our work we use only high-quality materials and provide a guarantee for products and work performed!

Examples of our work:

1. Lightweight stone.

Material: white cement (grade 600), coating - marble chips. Color: white, tinting is possible at the manufacturing stage. The surface of the details of the facade stucco molding imitates the natural stone travertine of various types (color, texture). Concrete products imply the selection of joints as a decorative element, therefore, the length of each part must be calculated for symmetry. Due to this, the production and installation time increases. Due to the rather heavy weight of the products, there are special requirements for the strength of the mounting surface of the facade. Tinting can be carried out during manufacture, which makes it possible to refuse further painting. During operation, only the washing of the facade is required.

2. Made of gypsum treated with hydrophobic impregnation (moisture protection)

... For the manufacture of complex decorative items, high-strength gypsum of the G-16 brand (Samara) is used. Plaster molding is a classic option for making decors of any complexity.

3. Polystyrene foam with polymer coating

... Material: base PSB-25F, the coating is a mastic mixture based on a copolymer styrene-acrylic dispersion, fractionated marble filler and a complex of modifying additives. The curly cutting technology allows you to create various architectural elements from expanded polystyrene. The big advantage of this technology is the ability to fully implement the plan of the architect and designer, and the low weight of the structure will make it easy to install the finished product. The decorative elements are covered with strengthening and coloring agents, this will give them a finished look and durability, but at the same time they will be relatively inexpensive. Lightweight stucco molding is easy to install, does not load the facade, competent installation allows for the absence of joints between the elements. Covered with facade paint or facade varnish. During operation, only the renewal of the paintwork is required (every 10 years, depending on the quality of the paint or varnish).

DECOR OF THE FACADE OF A STAFFING HOUSE FROM REINFORCED FOAM

Decorating the facades of houses is a well-known way to get a beautiful facade of a city building. For this, various methods are used, ranging from classic decorative plaster to siding panels in different colors. But recently, another method is gaining popularity - finishing the facade of the house with stucco molding from reinforced foam.

DECOR OF THE FACADE OF A STAFFING HOUSE FROM REINFORCED FOAM

Advantages of finishing the facade of the house with stucco from reinforced foam

The first indisputable advantage of the stucco decoration made of reinforced foam is its moisture resistance. Accordingly, the durability of the material also increases, and as a result, the entire facade. Installation is carried out using a special technique "liquid nails".

Advantages of finishing the facade of the house with stucco from reinforced foam

Sometimes not only the facade structures, but also the inner walls of the premises are "upholstered" with such material. Another advantage is the ability to paint foam stucco moldings in different colors, which creates freedom in the aesthetic design of the building. For this, mainly moisture-resistant paints are used.

In terms of their wear-resistant characteristics, facades finished with stucco molding made of reinforced polystyrene surpass most of the known "upholstery" materials - concrete, wood, plaster. It is not surprising that almost all manufacturers provide an impressive guarantee - at least 15 years.

Mounting advantages of reinforced foam stucco molding

The user gains great installation advantages over alternative materials. Here are a few more advantages of installing foam stucco moldings:

  • the material is lightweight, so even the most massive facades will not create loads on the overall structure of the building;
  • the lightness of the reinforced foam stucco molding does not create difficulties for the worker - it is easy to install in any conditions;
  • "Slabs" of two meters significantly speed up the installation process.

In addition, the material is not prone to chips or damage during transportation. Therefore, its transportation is as convenient, comfortable and safe as possible.

Stucco molding made of gypsum or reinforced foam?

But all the same, a big dilemma arises - to trust the proven plaster or still use the material that is not yet so popular in Ukraine. There is no definite answer to the question here.

Stucco molding made of gypsum or reinforced foam?

Despite all the advantages described above, reinforced foam is inferior to gypsum in some parameters. For example, in the fact that gypsum stucco molding is a handmade material, and the first is made by a machine tool. Especially ardent admirers of handicrafts can be put off by this.

Stucco molding made of gypsum or reinforced foam?

But the advantage of finishing made of reinforced foam is lower installation costs (and, interestingly, the material itself is more expensive than gypsum, but during the installation process, gypsum requires large financial investments). It's up to you to choose.

Stucco molding made of gypsum or reinforced foam?

But in general, reinforced foam stucco molding can be a good alternative to gypsum - it is more economical, easier to install and has excellent wear resistance and aesthetics.

Facade decor made of polystyrene foam with a polymer coating.

Domestic produces facade decor from expanded polystyrene with a 6 mm polymer concrete coating. The binder is gray cement or optionally white. This decor is a good alternative to expensive and heavy fiberglass concrete, as well as low-cost acrylic-coated foam. Our polymer concrete on expanded polystyrene is intended only with subsequent painting. The range of products goes far beyond our two catalogs, which are presented on the main page of the site.

Fiber is always included in our polymer coating. If the facade mesh protects the cornice from linear extensions and wind loads, then the fiber excludes microcracks along the entire surface of the cornice.

We do not have the cost of forms, the client pays only for the size of the products, the design of the product can be any. Important: cornices, window sills, window trims, pilasters, columns and other straight products are produced in 2-meter segments. The total cost of the products will depend on the density of the foam. For your information: the cost of the densest foam is three times higher than the price of the lightest foam. (This is where the low prices come from) This can positively or negatively affect the life of the decor.

The polymer coating starts with the correct façade mesh:

Painting mesh reinforcement: fiberglass meshes are for indoor and outdoor use. The net for the interior is often called a serpyanka, in photo No. 1. The next density is 70 grams, per 1 square meter of the grid, in photo No. 2 it is also a net for interior work. Decor manufacturers often use these nets in their products to reduce labor costs and reduce costs. They are very convenient to work with, they are very soft (due to the very thin hairs of the fibers), and fit comfortably on any relief of the detail. BUT these nets are highly alkali-afraid and not alkali-resistant. These serpyanka are intended mainly for gypsum plasters where there is no alkali. In addition, meshes of this density are very weak to break. Serpyaka is designed to prevent drywall microcracks, but not facade loads. Breaking stress in rooms and on facades varies greatly. That is, in five years, thanks to the alkali in the cement, this mesh will simply “dissolve” in the cement layer, and the reinforcement will disappear along with it.

Reinforcement with a facade mesh: we use a front reinforcement mesh with a density of 120 or 160 grams, per 1 square meter, in photos No. 3 and 5. The threads are glued tightly and evenly, do not creep, there is no "looseness" in the mesh. These nets are produced by a European manufacturer.

It is interesting that No. 4, with a higher declared (on the label) density, looks less dense in comparison with No. 3. The impregnation of mesh No. 4 is minimal, the mesh itself feels loose - this is a Chinese manufacturer of nets. No. 5 is the same European manufacturer of nets. The purchase price of mesh No. 3 is 50% higher than the Chinese mesh No. 4. Tactilely, No. 3 feels denser than No. 4.

The next moment is an alkali-resistant protective impregnation. Without such impregnation, the meaning in the mesh is lost. Please note, some with low density fiberglass 70-90 grams per 1 sq. M. This means that the mesh will only withstand light loads, such as wall microvibration. (People sometimes have to buy the cheapest.Unscrupulous manufacturers take advantage of this by offering low-density facade meshes made according to TU (self-written quality requirements). Indeed, even some builders do not pay attention to the density figures. At first glance, the grid looks like a grid. Its density is lower than that of the GOST mesh for facades, soon cracks will appear on such walls)

Next, we use fiber to increase the strength of the entire layer of cement pavement. We use other additives to increase the water resistance and frost resistance of decorative elements.

Step-by-step installation

Facade decor from expanded polystyrene
Facade decor from expanded polystyrene

Like any finishing work, the installation of facade foam must begin with the preparation of materials and tools. For work we need:

  1. Facade primer or impregnation.
  2. Adhesive for polystyrene.
  3. A set of spatulas.
  4. Jigsaw.
  5. Pencil.
  6. Roulette.
  7. Building level.
  8. Roller.
  9. Plastic container.
  10. a hammer

If everything from the list is at hand, you can proceed to the installation of facade foam blocks.

The first step is to thoroughly clean the facade surface. Remove all unnecessary things from it: ebbs, ventilation grilles, gutters, lighting fixtures.

Insulation with foam
Insulation with foam

If the front surface was previously plastered, then it must be knocked all over with a hammer. A poor-quality or old coating should fall off. All protruding irregularities and defects are also removed.

Ideally, degrease the entire façade with gasoline or thinner. This will remove possible oil and grease stains from the surface, as well as remove dirt and dust.

Important: if you mount the facade slabs on a non-degreased surface, the glue will not get proper adhesion to the wall and will quickly lose its quality.

When the facade surface is completely cleaned, it must be treated with deep penetration soil and impregnations that protect against mold and mildew. After that, the wall must dry completely, otherwise the glue will not set.

When the facade surface is completely cleaned, it must be treated with deep penetration soil and impregnations that protect against mold and mildew. After that, the wall must dry completely, otherwise the glue will not set.

Now you need to dilute the glue. To do this, pour water into a plastic container and stirring constantly, pour the mixture until it acquires a thick consistency.

Tip: it is necessary to prepare the glue in small portions in order to have time to use it before it hardens. Drying time is about 30-40 minutes, based on this, you need to calculate the amount of the finished solution.

After a portion of the solution is thoroughly mixed, it must be allowed to brew for 5-10 minutes, and then thoroughly mixed again. In the process of work, the mixture will thicken and it will be necessary to stir it again, and, possibly, add a small amount of water.

Using a notched trowel, apply the glue to the surface of the styrofoam façade block. The mortar should cover the entire surface as evenly as possible.

Advice: when applying the solution to the block, you should leave about 5 cm from each edge, then at the moment of pressing against the wall, the excess will not have to be removed.

Further, the front foam block is tightly pressed against the wall, in this position it must be fixed for 10-15 seconds, this time is enough for the glue to set. If the excess crawled out from under the foam, they must be removed so that they do not interfere with the subsequent docking. Now you can move on to the next plate.

Insulation of a private house with foam
Insulation of a private house with foam

The next foam segment should fit snugly to the previous one with as little clearance as possible, otherwise the joints will have to be removed with grouting for joints, and this is unnecessary work and additional costs.

When the facade finish is completed, holes are drilled in all necessary places and the items removed before the start of the finish are mounted.Now it remains to fix decorative elements in the form of moldings and cornices. They are made of exactly the same reinforced facade foam, which means that their installation is no different from the installation of plates.

Advice: decorative facade elements and the foam blocks themselves must be of the same manufacturer, then their texture will not differ in color.

This completes the finishing and insulation of the facade, and you can forget about them for the next 30 years, and this is the warranty period given by manufacturers for foam facade slabs.

Why not buy acrylic-coated polystyrene foam?

Acrylic (mastic) coating is made from a water-based styrene-acrylic dispersion. This dispersion is also used for water-based interior wall and ceiling paints. That is, the dispersion is quite hygroscopic and not frost-resistant. In the solidified form, styrene-acrylic dispersion has significant drawbacks, one of which is that at subzero temperatures the binder loses its elasticity and is subject to glass transition. Do not confuse acrylic dispersion with acrylic plastic.

The next point - any material has thermal expansion, foam is no exception. Expanded polystyrene is 92% air, we know from physics - air is compressed in winter and expands in summer. The elastic acrylic coating does not have a rigid reinforcement in the form of mesh and fiber, therefore it grows and shrinks with the foam. Of course, this happens unevenly, so cracks appear at the seams.

Installation of foam elements

Almost anyone can mount decorative elements made of foam plastic on the walls, even without solid experience.

  1. The wall is thoroughly cleaned of paint, layers, dirt, mold (by scraping or special solutions). In addition, it must be dry and even.
  2. The deviation from the plane should not exceed one centimeter per square meter. Otherwise, leveling of the surface is required.
  3. During installation, a special foam adhesive is used. To fix large volumetric fragments, embedded parts or anchors are additionally used. The combination of glue plus hardware is the most optimal, since reliability, tight fit, and gaps are leveled.
  4. The sheet with glue applied over the entire surface is firmly pressed against the wall and held until it fully adheres to it.
  5. If necessary, the fasteners are reinforced with dowels. Holes for them (not through) are drilled only after the glue has completely dried, when the material is finally fixed.
  6. The final stage is filling the joints of sheets, holes under the dowels with a sealant or polyurethane foam. The protruding excess is removed with a spatula, and the surface is rubbed. This stage is necessary to strengthen the strength of the material and additional protection of the walls from external influences.

The installation of the styrofoam decor is almost complete. It remains to refine it, that is, to paint. First, a layer of special primer is applied, and then two layers of acrylic paint. Each coat must dry completely before applying the next one.

When working with foam, do not overdo it in pressing the material or other manipulations, so as not to damage it, especially small parts.

APPLICATION OF FOAM FOR FACADE DECOR PRODUCTION

Every insignificant detail, every contour and element used to decorate buildings and structures fulfills its own, infinitely important function. They create a special image of the house, giving it personality and helping to express its owner.

For the manufacture of such parts, various materials are used, among which a special place is given to the production of facade decor from polystyrene (expanded polystyrene). This unique material is the ideal solution to create a wide variety of architectural forms and implement the most daring design solutions.

Polyfoam has firmly taken its place in the architectural and decorative design of facades, and every year it is increasingly crowding out traditional materials such as stone, marble, and gypsum, since it has a lot of undeniable advantages:

  • a huge variety of shapes, ease and speed in processing and finishing;
  • evenness of the surface without the presence of seams;
  • low weight, which allows avoiding additional loads on the building structure;
  • ease and convenience of installation, without the use of special tools;
  • resistance to external influences - precipitation, wind, ultraviolet radiation and temperature extremes;
  • environmental friendliness - it is absolutely safe and non-toxic;

How to make a coated foam facade decor correctly?

The architectural forms of the house and their individual elements at all times of human civilization were dictated by the presence of one or another type of building material. Strictly speaking, with the advent of new building materials, the decoration of buildings and their appearance have also changed.

Foam-insulated facade decor

Antique style, Gothic, modernist and so on appeared. Architectural buildings were no longer uniform in appearance. But the evolution of the styles of architectural structures did not stop, and in 1951 foam was synthesized.

A new style appeared for architectural structures, where the facade decor made of foam plastic with a special coating played a key role in the installation of insulated siding.

Sophisticated finishing of facades with PRODUCTS from "TOP-PENOPLAST"

is engaged in the production of products from expanded polystyrene, which can be used to decorate both external surfaces of buildings (facade decor) and internal interiors (decoration elements).

The list of foam elements for external decoration of building facades manufactured by our company is very wide: classic facade columns, pilasters, brackets, platbands, cornices, arches of any configuration, rustic materials, stucco moldings, capitals, gables for windows, moldings, and many other foam products at very attractive prices.

For the manufacture of architectural elements of facade decor from foam plastic, our company uses high-density polystyrene foam, the so-called extruded or extruded foam.Thus, all decorative finishing of your home made of expanded polystyrene will retain its original appearance for a long time.

We pay great attention to the choice of coating that gives the products additional strength and protection from mechanical stress. At the same time, the use of special materials, such as elastic plaster, allows them to remain sufficiently plastic and prevents the formation of cracks.

Separately, it is necessary to mention the painting of products and the application of decorative coatings, thanks to which, elements of the facade made of foam plastic, you can give the appearance of natural stone, wood or marble.

Many people are accustomed to perceiving foam solely as insulation - it is fragile and flammable, and also has an exceptionally white surface. In fact, this is a common misconception, modern technologies make it possible to make dense, non-combustible plates with a wide variety of surfaces from polyurethane foam.

Today in stores you can find polystyrene of three markings:

  1. Psb-15
  2. Psb-25
  3. Psb-35

Psb is an abbreviation for the words polystyrene block, and the numbers indicate the density of the board and the size of the foam fraction.

Basically, the foam is marked with psb-35. This is a high-density slab that is absolutely not afraid of temperature changes and even open fire. And only glue is needed for installation.

Reinforced facade foam is already covered with decorative plaster or, more correctly, polymer concrete, which greatly simplifies the workflow. As a rule, imitation of bricks is applied to such slabs. The wall of the house retains its natural appearance, but at the same time without flaws and flaws in the construction.

Someone, reading this article now, will think that they have found the perfect finishing material, but I hasten to disappoint you - and it has a number of its disadvantages:

  • Despite its resistance to fire, when melted, it emits acrid, toxic smoke, which should never be inhaled.
  • The styrofoam facade can be damaged by any sharp or heavy object, after which the entire segment will have to be replaced.
  • Mice are very fond of settling in warm facade foam plates, so the walls must be pre-treated with special means.
  • Facade polystyrene does not breathe at all and does not release condensation accumulating on the walls.
  • It is not advisable to use facade foam boards on wooden houses. The build-up of condensation has a negative effect on the tree.

Fortunately, there are still more positive qualities:

  • Does not require additional finishing.
  • Does not rot or mold.
  • Does not require additional vapor barrier.
  • Significantly saves your home heating costs.
  • Long lasting.
  • Cheaper than many finishing materials.
  • Simple and easy to install.

Tip: when choosing reinforced polystyrene in the store, you must carefully check the quality of the coating of each block. Chips or scratches will significantly reduce the lifespan.

If the choice is made in favor of facade foam, then you can proceed to the installation technology.
