A kind of room oven with an open hearth.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES

The main load in this the structure carries a fireplace stove

(hereinafter for brevity - oven). It provides for the possibility of transit of hot flue gases for heating the second floor, both due to the operation of the furnace and due to flooding. Moreover, the flue gases from the flooding follow in transit, practically not taking part in the heating of the first floor. This decision is due to the following considerations:

EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR THIS ARTICLE IS HERE >>>
  • - the inclusion of smoke channels, flooding into the smoke circulation system of the first floor will require an increase in the mass of the entire structure, which is undesirable;
  • - the presence of underflooding is caused not by a lack of heat from the main structure of the oven, but by considerations of convenience - the ability to cook food;
  • - the chimney from the underflooding adjoins the left circulation channel of the furnace and merges with it, without negatively affecting its operation.

It is possible to link the furnace with underflooding using structurally defining sections (KOS). This method does not require detailed ordering in most cases, but it allows you to compactly link all the necessary elements - blowers, furnaces, chimneys.

For this design, such KOS we choose the 3rd, 14th, 20th rows (Fig. 1, 2), as well as vertical sections A-A and B-B (Fig. 3, 4).

Bell-type heating furnaces

In these furnaces, the heated air rises up to the brick hood. In it, it gradually cools down and is forced out into the chimney by new hot streams rising from the combustion chamber. This convection design ensures maximum efficiency. The bell-type furnace is able to quickly and evenly warm up the air in the room. The most effective designs are those with a two-tier hood.

Bell furnace

Bell-type furnaces are potentially explosive. This is due to the possibility of accumulation of unburned gases in the bell, which may well ignite sharply and arrange a fairly accurate semblance of an explosion. In practice, this happens very rarely. An explosion can certainly be avoided if you know how to heat a bell-type furnace, do not reduce the air supply to an amount at which the normal combustion process in the combustion chamber is impossible. The probability of an explosion is especially low if the bell-type furnace is fired with coke or high-quality coal. Only a wood-burning stove is somewhat explosive (due to the peculiarities of wood burning).

Double bell oven

FEATURES OF OPERATION OF THE FIREPLACE OVEN

Before opening the furnace door when placing firewood in the stove in heating mode, it is necessary to switch the mode of its operation to the fireplace one. To do this, you must fully open the valve No. 1. Otherwise, smoke may be ejected through the open door.

Passing flue gases in transit to the second floor to heat it, the oven doors must be kept closed so that the gases have the highest temperature.

If it is necessary to use a heating stove for cooking in a warm season or when using the oven in open fireplace mode (when it is not required to heat the premises of the first or second floor), flue gases must be passed in transit, bypassing all smoke circulation systems, that is, with all valves open on both floors. (On the ground floor there are valves # 1 and 2.)

Swedish stove design

Swedish oven with oven and hob

Rectangular brick structure designed for home heating. Equipped with a hob that is placed in a niche in the back of the cabinet. An oven is usually present.

In appearance, the Swede looks more like a Dutch woman than a Russian stove. The large heating surface area makes it efficient. Typically, the unit is placed between the kitchen and the living area, so that the hob and oven are in the kitchen space, and the flat heating surface is in the living room.

The furnace layout is standard. Fuel burns in the firebox, hot gas is emitted, as well as heated air moves from the firebox through the chimney channels, spreading heat. The main heat exchange is carried out in bell elements above the drying and firebox. The ratio of Swedish elements and additional structures - stove, oven, determines its features.

  • The Swedish oven is located almost on the same level with the firebox, has large dimensions and is made of cast iron. When firing up the stove, the oven plays the role of a bell - it helps the afterburning of fuel and promotes better heat release. If you open the oven, the kitchen will warm up in 3-4 minutes. Often, the oven is used in this capacity.
  • The Swedish brick stove is equipped with an upper niche. It also plays the role of an air cap. The niche also serves as a kind of drying chamber. Here you can dry 2-3 sets of wet winter clothes along with your shoes in 3-4 hours.
  • The lower niche is 1 unit with the hob. Food is prepared here. When the heating is stopped, the niche acts as a thermos. Food is kept warm and fresh until the next day. To prevent mice from assaulting food, the niche is closed with a wooden lid.
  • The chimney ducts and the firebox are connected without a highlighter - this element increases the cost and complicates the design. But because of this, the Swede quickly cools down after stopping heating. To keep the heat, close the view immediately after the end of the firebox.

The back of the stove, if placed in a living room, can be fitted with a shelf or a stove bench. The shelf is small - no more than 0.7 m wide, so it is inconvenient to lie on it. They use it in a different way: they install a bed above the shelf. It is heated by warm air from a brick ledge, so you can sleep even in an unheated house with all the comforts. Bed linen is often stored on the shelf, since dampness does not threaten it here.

In the original design, the lower niche is arch-shaped. However, its laying requires high qualifications. In modern Swedes, it is given a simple rectangular shape.

A kind of room oven with an open hearth.

In uncle's apartment, in a large room that served as a drawing room, dining room, library and study, there was also a fireplace, a firelight, and coals behind the grate were burning; and in front of the unheated fireplace sometimes a screen of dark green silk with golden leaves, flowers, peacocks and roosters (or pheasants?), with two wooden supports, at the top were balls of mahogany, at the bottom were animal-bird paws.

But he had not yet seen the portrait, because he had his back to him, and now he saw only a fireplace - a fireplace made of rough stone, smeared with clay, in which a large charred log half buried in gray ash was smoldering, and next to the fireplace was sitting in a rocking chair girl, so it seemed to him at first, until he saw a face, and then he even stopped to look at her, because he suddenly thought he was about to remember something else that his uncle told him about Lucas Beecham or, in in any case, in connection with him, and looking at her, he only now thought how old he really must be, because she was a tiny old woman, almost doll-sized, much darker than he, in an apron, in a shawl thrown over her shoulders, and her head was tied with a snow-white kerchief, over which she was wearing a colored straw hat with some kind of decoration.

And in the twilight, a fireplace was stoked in the sofa, so that no other fire would be here - and the moon would rise by midnight, and here by the fireplace Innocent Annensky asserted Lermontov, in that French proverb, which says that the most delicious apple - with a speck - so the two of them, him and her, languish in the chill of the living room and in the warmth of the fireplace until the moon rose.

Let him talk ... it's funny to be present at this hot meal, and a little earlier - to enjoy Lina's delight at the sight of the room and the fireplace, singing, waiting for the fireplace ... a puffy wallet, a kind of money bubble needed by everyone who wants to travel without problems; rain, smashing to smithereens on the hotel bubble, just as it smashed tonight on the white-white face of Lina, who was voting at the edge of a gloomy forest, what a stupid place for hitchhiking, why stupid, you picked me up, okay, maybe some more soup , bear cub, let's eat some soup so as not to get sore throat; teddy bear, not yet dry hair, but ahead there is already a fireplace, singing, waiting for them in a room with a huge, truly royal bed, with mirrors all over the wall, tables, fringes and heavy curtains, well, why, pray tell me, why did you stick out under rain, your mother would have seen, that would have spanked.

Blair added some more paper and some charcoal to the fireplace, and when the charcoal was kindled, he lay down on the floor as close to the fireplace as possible so that he could feel the warm breath of the flame more fully.

Pine needles thrown into the fireplace, or a cypress tree lying on the hearth, has the same effect on the fireplace.

There he could light the fireplace, pour himself a glass of cognac, sit down with him in an easy chair and stretch his legs to the fireplace with pleasure.

The living room in the house was furnished modestly, but everything in it was pleasing to the eye - low chairs with dark blue upholstery, terracotta curtains, a striking clock, a brightly burning fireplace (electric, with glass coals), and on the mantelpiece there was a German helmet considered to be a military one. Neil's trophy.

I looked around from the doorway, walked, looked at the photographs on the mantel (the fireplace was electric, but it looked almost real).
