In the units of the latest models, the presence of electronic ignition is provided, which means that if there is no ignition, the gas is cut off by the valve, and the supply of blue fuel is stopped.

If there is no ventilation draft, the gas water heater will never ignite, check the draft level with a paper strip - just bring the paper to the ventilation grill. When the tap is opened, water is supplied through the inlet pipe to the water-gas unit, which turns on the ignition and gas supply. As soon as it ignites, a signal is sent from the flame sensor to the electronic unit to stop sparking.
Further, the water passes through a coil rigidly fixed to the heat exchanger, which is heated by the burning gas. The coil transfers heat to the outgoing running water.
When the tap closes, the water-gas unit cuts off the gas supply. Burning stops and the column goes into standby mode for opening the water tap.
An important condition for the normal and safe operation of the column is the removal of combustion products through the ventilation chimney. If the hood is absent or insufficient, the draft sensor is triggered and the column turns off.
The overheating sensor is responsible for the timely shutdown of the column when the maximum temperature is reached. It is an essential element of the column to provide overheating protection.
Maintaining the required temperature is an equally important condition for fire safety and a long service life of the column. Overheating negatively affects the condition of all elements, especially the heat exchanger, which leads to their premature failure.

To get to the rubber membrane, you will need to remove half of the assembly, if the element is severely deformed, then the root cause of the problem is in it. Check the condition of the filter on the water intake, it must be cleaned whenever it becomes clogged. To clean the filter, unscrew the nut, take out the mesh, rinse it; if damaged, the element must be replaced.

To change the membrane in the gas column, first of all, you should shut off the water at the inlet to the water heater or throughout the apartment. To replace the membrane, we need a Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, wrenches 24 and 19, a new membrane or a repair kit.
Before removing the casing, remove all handles from the front side and disconnect the wires from the display, if any. In some speakers, the case is additionally secured with screws that are located at the bottom and top of the speaker, under the adjustment knobs or decorative covers. Also, the casing is attached with simple latches.

When a household heater first turns on, but soon fades out, the reason often lies in a malfunction of the bimetallic temperature sensor, which is required to protect the device from overheating. If the temperature sensor is broken, the device may not turn on, and then the development scenarios may be as follows:
The gas burner ignites, the equipment turns on and works properly for some time, but it dies out quickly, after which it will no longer be possible to ignite the heater. It will take 20 or 30 minutes, and only then can the equipment be turned on again, but then the same thing happens.

We remove the three temperature adjustment knobs by simply pulling or prying them with a screwdriver. We unscrew the four self-tapping press washers at the top and bottom, two at a time - fastening the front panel. We disconnect the wires going to the display and that's it, the panel to the side. We take out the batteries from the power supply and unscrew the battery block - one self-tapping screw from the bottom. In the next step, we unscrew the water inlets - two nuts on the back and on the right. Now you need a long screwdriver to reach the screws on the water valve through the ventilation ducts on the right. We unscrew the screws, remove the water supply and take out the water seal.
Please pay special attention to the stock. You will see a small round gasket on the new stem. When removing the old stem, such a gasket may remain in the body and be difficult to reach. There is nothing terrible in this. Just remove the gasket from the new stem and that's it. This gasket works for gas tightness and has no wear. So, we unscrewed the stem - we put a new one, put a new membrane, put a new micrik (I will not describe it - just a children's designer), in general, we put everything in place in the reverse order. Before installing the water seal, we change the temperature sensor, if necessary.
There is such a moment: when I began to unscrew four screws on the water seal, I could not unscrew one. I had to shoot together with the gas regulator. But that's a completely different story.
That is, in principle, all the cases. Repairing the Oasis gas water heater is not such a difficult thing. We collect all the parts in the reverse order of parsing. If something is not clear, write. I wrote an article a month after the repair - I apologize if there are minor inaccuracies.
PS ... I would like to add such information to the article after a year of observing the Oasis column: the temperature sensor again began to show numbers with hieroglyphs alternately. The indicated temperature on the display does not correspond to the real one. Enough for exactly one year.

With domestic equipment, everything is easier. Replacements can be found in stores or ordered online.
Experts recommend choosing a silicone diaphragm. It is more elastic and durable.
If you think that the principle of the structure of all membranes is the same, this is not so. For example, in water heaters "Ariston" special elements - "eight" are installed. They are made of dense rubber and have a special shape. Their cost ranges from 300 to 500 rubles.
The membrane in Electrolux devices works according to the "figure eight" principle. But its price is much lower - from 200 rubles.
The easiest membrane to operate and replace is "Neva" and "Astra".
There are also universal options, but they are only suitable for temporary installation. It is impossible to fine-tune equipment without factory parts.
